The mad tumult and exalt
Voracious, widemouthed
Laughing cup runneth over
Bustle and shoulder bumping
Crowd fills the house
With celebrate pontificate
Madden enbadden and let none
Remain uncorrupted nor untouched
By selfindulgent gratulations
Glasses raised and toasting
This novelty profuse.
No more shall we beg
The breath of the dead
Henceforthwith we shall rename
Our dreams as plans instead
And ring in this most magnificent
confabulation of days,
The Year Of Doing Things.

Reading it out loud is like reading a incantation. Explosive rhythm. Love this:
Our dreams as plans instead
And ring in this most magnificent
confabulation of days,
The Year Of Doing Things.
Happy New Year!

It is a bit like that, yes…
If only that excited faith could last…
But I’d like 2009m to be a year of change, I would.

The year of doing things: nice summary of the thousands and thousands of resolutions being written. One difference: most of them won’t get done.

I love, love, love this! And this sounds like ME:
Voracious, widemouthed
Laughing cup runneth over

“Henceforthwith we shall rename
Our dreams as plans instead”
That sent a shiver down my spine! Only this morning I was thinking that this year seems special already – not only for me and my creative endeavours, but also my best friend is blossoming, my father is starting a new business and my husband is also starting to move into the next phase of his life. How exciting to find such a perfect expression of that! Thanks!
