huh? disentangling himself from her luscious curls, almost, and then rolling back into a blissful soft pink paradise…

Sir! Land Ahoy!

Oh my goodness, please no saluting, not this time of the morning, you might wake her, again,

Yes sir. We are in sight of land, actual solid rock sir, with a geometry suggesting certain positives may be acquired from perhaps the briefest of explorations.

Hmmm, actual solid rock, no more lazy bobbing in the easy currents, well we could use some more crew after that last bloodbath, he says, looking down at her smiling in her half sleep, silver fish earrings dancing in the dark ocean of her hair. Print up some Orchid Room dance cards, alert the pixallators, we will need a croupier, and I suppose you better let the old man know if you can find him, lets take a look…

  1. Mmmmmm… Johnny. No wonder she finds it hard to get to sleep. *sigh*
Now where does this go then? Off to look…

  2. Yeah, he is resigning himself to being played by a pretty boy, he’ld still prefer Ray Winstone,

  3. You cant beat a good bloodbath, and I have the crew, if you need them 🙂

  4. I enjoyed this, especailly the ocean of her hair and the fish earrings swimming in it.

Thanks for your question on my blog about performing poetry vs reading from the page. In an informal sharing of poetry, reading is fine, but once there is an actual audience it has to be performance…. it means the poet can engage with the audience, it brings the poetry to life, it brings more respect to poetry as a spoken form, its more intense.

  5. I love the fluidity of your words…especially ‘silver fish earrings dancing in the dark ocean of her hair’…I like the idea of that.

  6. I would think she would not want to sleep through this anyhow, hmmm? Time for some shore leave.

  7. Stand by the bollards! Make fast the cleats!

I say, isn’t that the good ship Lollipop?

    Rose

    xo

  8. Hale, me hearties, thankyou. This was an interesting experiment in link writing/thinking. There is something about links which open up the possibilities of text, beyond the book,
